I am running version 2.6.4 Release 183.

When I start up ACT it tells me there is a new version available 2.7.0 Release 184.

I hit the Download button. It downloads then tells me to hit the Update button

I hit the Update button, it tells me it will shutdown Act and restart it is this Ok? I click yes

It shuts down ACT, my cursor indicates something is running in background, ACT restarts

It is still version 2.6.4 Release 183, new version is available do you want to download?

What am I missing here?

Something that may impede the EXE from being overwritten. Such as the program still running, EQ2 running and taking too much CPU time for ACT to close before the updater attempts to overwrite, Explorer or AV locking the file for some reason, insufficient privileges on some messed up Vista security option...

@Aditu
The event handler on the "Yes" button seems to be broken or not working right anymore...
Maybe the updater file name it's looking for is wrong or outdated?
Anyway, there is no error message and it's happening under WinXP SP2 too.

What you need to do as a user (workaround):
- Run ACT, you get the popup "a newer version" blahblah
- Click download
- Click update (confirm with yes)
- ACT will now close down, but the updater window will remain opened.
- Close the updater window
- Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder you installed ACT in (something like C:\Program Files\ACT
- You will find a file named "Update 2.7.0.186.exe" or similar.
- Run this file once by double clicking it, completing the update process.
