It is very likely that this forum will be discontinued in favor of the current alternate forums. Since this is a free forum, I do not control much about it and believe it or not, there are more helpful people in the alternative forums. By switching, there will be only one forum and a more active user base that actually helps me answer questions. It is preferred that new topics are started there instead of here.

Hi !

(first point, i'm sorry for my bad english :/ Haven't speak for... pff... at least :p)

We use Ventrilo for our raid and I'm trying to setup functions of ACT in order to announce AoE to all gamers on Ventri.
I setup ventrilo and Act on a virtual pc, that's ok, timers are ok (they run correctly), I can reach my logs through our home server, textes to speech also ok... but I can't make speak Act :/.

I find some tutorials for TS settings but very few infos for Ventrilo.

Could someone help me please with Ventrilo settings ?

Edit : we use Ventrilo 2.1.4... not the last version unfortunately... :/

The problem is that for ACT to directly affect Ventrilo, it needs to provide an API or plugin interface... it does not however. Meaning for me to do such a thing anyways, I would have to literally hack into the Ventrilo process after reverse engineering it. I'm not prepared, nor do I have any experience in doing so.

Indirectly, ACT could try to simulate a key-press of the PTT button and then run the TTS over the speakers. But such a system would also echo all other Vent traffic. I'm not particularly sure I wish for ACT to be doing keyboard emulation either. At best, maybe an ACT plugin.
